Payroll Giving is a way for employees to donate to registered charities directly from their paychecks! Once you enroll, a specified amount is automatically deducted from your pay each pay cycle and sent to your selected nonprofit, such as CARES. It’s one of the easiest ways to give regularly, and depending on where you live or work, those donations may come out before tax, meaning more of your money goes to the cause you care about. It’s efficient, sustainable, and completely hands-off once set up.

1. Check Your HR or Employee Benefits Portal
   Many companies list payroll giving options in their internal HR or benefits platforms. Log in and look for sections with titles like Employee Giving, Charitable Contributions, Workplace Giving, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Payroll Deductions.
   
   If you see a list of approved charities or giving platforms, search for “Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.” If we’re not there yet, don’t worry—we’ll help you get us added.
   

2. Ask Your Human Resources (HR) Department
   If you can’t find information online, reach out directly to your HR or payroll team. You can say something like: “Hi, I’m interested in donating to a charity I support through payroll giving. Does our company offer a program like this, and if so, how do I get started?” This is a common question, and most HR teams are happy to help. If your company doesn’t yet offer a program, your interest could be the reason they start one!
   

3. Contact Us for Help
   If you’re unsure how to begin or don’t see us listed, please reach out to us! We can confirm if your employer already partners with our nonprofit, help you talk to your HR team about setting up a payroll donation, and provide any necessary forms, registration info, or tax IDs. We’re here to make this easy for you!

CARES will use your Payroll Giving contribution to fund our current National Cancer Research Grants.

   If payroll giving isn’t possible right now, consider becoming a monthly donor through our website. It’s just as consistent and helps us plan for the future.

3. Ask about other Corporate Giving options
   Even if payroll giving isn’t offered, your company might provide:
   ‍ ‍Donation matching for personal gifts
   ‍ ‍Company-Sponsored Volunteering or Volunteer Time Off (VTO) programs
   Sponsorship or grant opportunities
